In our September magazine:

  • An interview by Jane Roberts with Holly Parberry. Holly is 15 years old and a member of St John’s Ambulance Brigade. Holly is off to Africa with the Brigade in January 2020. She is one of 14 cadets travelling from the UK. There will be cadets from all over the world taking part in the activities and competitions.
  • Douglas and Jenny Travers gave a talk on Bingham Cemetery, it’s history from Victorian times to today. The council minutes recorded the first meeting on 7th April 1887 when the matter was discussed. Land was eventually purchased and plans approved for the current layout.
  • An article from the archives by Ethel Manson on the efforts required to travel by train in the 1930’s.
